Exciting News from Nanoworld Vanegas Lab!

Dr. Julie Vanegas has been awarded a prestigious NSF LEAPS-MPS grant!


The project, “Tuning Curvature-Dependent Optical Selectivity of Functionalized Metal Nanoparticles for Biomimetic Recognition of Bacterial Lipopolysaccharides,” has been funded by the Division of Materials Research (NSF-DMR).
We sincerely thank the National Science Foundation for supporting this innovative research, which will run from October 2025 through September 2027.

Congratulations to Brittany Griggs!


We are thrilled to celebrate our team member Brittany Griggs, who has been awarded the Center for Engineering MechanoBiology (CEMB) Master’s Research Fellowship at the University of Pennsylvania.
Starting September 2025, Brittany will receive  funding  to cover her Master in Chemistry for travel and research, and opportunities to collaborate with leaders at Columbia University and the University of Pennsylvania.
